About Us

The Hunter Women’s Centre is a non-profit community organisation that supports women’s health and wellbeing in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley in NSW, Australia.

The organisation was formed in 1975 and has worked for over 30 years within a feminist and social justice framework.

Our professional and experienced staff provide services including counselling, therapeutic and support groups, advocacy, referral and community education.

The Centre also hosts a wide range of support services and special interest activities. We have a regular program of events and publish a quarterly newsletter.

The Hunter Women’s Centre is funded by NSW Health through Hunter New England Health.
