About Us
Hunter Women’s Centre is a non-government, not for profit, community based organisation which provides services to improve the health and wellbeing of the women of the Hunter.
The Centre is run by women for women, has been operating for over 30 years and prioritises services to women who are marginalised, experiencing disadvantage or having difficulty in accessing services elsewhere. Staff at the Hunter Women's Centre are experienced and qualified and work from a holistic perspective which considers all aspects of a woman's health and wellbeing.
Hunter Women’s Centre is funded by NSW Health via the Hunter New England Area Health Service. The Centre is a member of Women’s Health NSW, the peak body for non-government women’s health services.
Services avaliable include information and referral, counselling, casework, therapeutic and support groups, workshops, advocacy, outreach and community education.
